Your own protein bounce ball!



OK, thanks to James for finding this recipe for your own Protein bounce ball!

As ever, yo may want to play about with the levels of ingredients to get your own consistency – but I think these taste pretty damn good!

4-5 Tablespoons of Organic Peanut Butter

100g Vanilla Protein Powder

1 Tablespoon honey

Some Soya/Goats/Rice milk (I used about 100ml), but add slowly until the mixture is a stickygoo – you don’t want it to be too moist and running.

Some Ground nuts (mixture or just almonds)

Combine all the ingredients and stir together. At this point you can throw in a handful of ground nuts if you wish.

Wet your hands and scoop out some mix, roll into a ball shape (it will get sticky!) and then roll it in ground nuts.

Place on a baking tray and once you have made about 10 place them in the fridge for a few hours and there you go!!

    One question – how long will they last Mark do you know?

    • Go for it Cat – let me know if you change anything!
      I’m not sure on lastability. I’m wrapping them in clingfilm/foil, and keeping them in the fridge. I reckon 5-7 days, though there is nothing “fresh” in them to go off…..I reckon it’s more a question of how long you can leave them alone before going back for another!!!! 🙂

  2. Could you used skimmed milk if you wanted?


    • Hi Sarah!

      Yeah that’s fine – though I have a lactose intolerance so stick with goats/soya/rice/oat etc

      If you wanted to up the carb content you could also add some ground oats or even easier might be Oatmeal.
      And if you’re taking creatine, bung some in as well? I added 25g of choc protein powder, might add more next time as you couldn’t really taste it.
      I’d say the consistency is a little more fudgey than the originals, but still damn good!

    • Ha ha!! Go Judith!! These really are fudge like, in fact I prefer them over the bounce balls which can be a little dry.
      Will make some more soon and try some ground oats to up the carb levels.
      Do post back how you get on and if you change anything!!
